I fully believe that no education is ever a waste.
Education is only partially about the actual subject matter you are studying. I believe that the more important part is the personal journey you undergo when pursuing any kind of educational endeavour.
I have just come out of university with a BFA in theatre. Like you, I am staring down the barrel of a potentially gruelling career path. But I don't regret it, not even for a moment, because I learned SO MUCH, and grew by leaps and bounds, in the time it took me to get this degree.
Think of how you have grown as a person in the time since you embarked on your post-secondary journey. Think of the wonderful experiences you have had. Post-secondary education is an amazing gift. Even if you don't end up working as an actor, you have still been very lucky to have these amazing experiences and challenges.
Your career probably won't look like how you thought it would, but that's life. Nothing is ever exactly the way we hoped it would be. That being said, you WILL find your way. You are a brilliant, resourceful, and talented person, and you will ALWAYS be okay. You will make it work. I know it's scary now, but you will rise to every challenge you are faced with.
Don't give up. Keep going. Keep learning and growing and fighting for what you love. Opportunities will present themselves, and if they don't, you will create them. You are a force to be reckoned with when you set your mind to something.
You are not the cookie-cutter idea of an actress that the industry demands, but that is not a bad thing. You are who you are, and your immense talent and heart and mind will never go to waste.
Believe. Have faith. Trust in yourself and in the journey.
